Microdyne Inc, the Arlington, Virginia company that picked up all those hardware product lines Novell Inc did not want, is to restructure its Networking Products Division, writing down goodwill and inventory previously valued at $22m. The division, pushing out lines such as Ethernet boards, will have a shipping holiday in the quarter ending March 31, in order to draw inventories down to a target level of 30 days, and the firm will have sales of less than $1m for the quarter.
