Microsoft Corp and Unisys Corp have said they would work together on homeland security and emergency management tools.
Unisys will integrate Microsoft technology into its information sharing management framework. Using this ISM technology, government agencies can access any data source and extend information-sharing across an entire justice and domestic security network, claimed the companies.
This includes information on potential terrorists and threats to domestic security, from sources such as federal and state homeland security agencies, state driver’s license registries, or professional license registries.
The Unisys ISM framework gets the right information to the right people at the right time, improving the quality of responses to homeland defense, emergency management and criminal justice incidents, said Microsoft’s director for public safety and national security Tim Bloechl, in a statement.
The ISM system will support and integrate technologies from Microsoft’s Windows, Visual Studio .NET, BizTalk, SQL Server, Host Integration Server and Industry Standard Web Services.
