Microsoft Corp has paid and undisclosed amount for Apptimum Inc, in an apparent move to make transitioning to Windows Vista easier for individual users.
Apptimum, formerly known as Eisenworld Inc, makes a piece of software called Alohabob PC Relocator, which enables Windows users to more simply transfer their data, applications and configuration from one PC to the next.
The technology acquired from Apptimum is expected to be a strong complement to the transfer experience offered in Windows Vista later this year, the company said in a statement.
