Microsoft Corp said it expects sales in China to reach at least $5m in 1996. At the launch of the Chinese version of Windows95 in Peking, the company said it expected Windows95 to be installed in 50% of personal computers shipped in China in 1996. It forecasts total personal computer sales in China to be around 1.5m units in 1996, up from 1.1m to 1.2m in 1995; it said the situation of copyright violations by large institutions and government departments was improving but that there had been little or no improvement in piracy of software sold retail.
