Microsoft Corp has said its Windows operating system will have a more natural interface within five years, incorporating speech and handwriting recognition technology. The news came via chief executive officer Bill Gates who believes the integration of more human-style methods of inputting and outputting data is critical to the future of the company. Gates says up to 20% of the companies $2bn research and development bill is spent on pure research with a sizable part of that dedicated to natural research.
