Healthcare technology specialist Misys and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield are to offer physicians a direct link for following up insurance claims processing, automated payment posting and eligibility checking.
Misys’ transaction processing clearinghouse, which expanded recently with the acquisition of Payerpath, is one the US’s largest healthcare electronic data interchange (EDI) service providers. It processes more than 470 million electronic transactions per year, and uses a combination of direct payer connectivity and intermediary links to connect to more than 830 insurance payers in the US.
Misys technology is designed to help physicians and medical groups increase revenue, dramatically reduce delays and increase reimbursement rates, while also making practice operations and claims processing more efficient, said Tom Skelton, chief executive officer of Misys Healthcare Systems. And our direct connection with CFBCBS will certainly streamline the transactions process for Misys’ 92,000 physician clients.
