Now that the UK private telephone switch market has become so competitive, Mitel Corp, the Kanata, Ontario PABX maker where British Telecommunications Plc has a 51% stake is hopeful that the stringent limits on its joint marketing of products with British Telecom will be relaxed: it is also hoping do undertake joint development with British Telecom, but says such new efforts will only start bearing fruit over an 18-month to two-year term.
