The Ministry of International Trade & Industry, whose impetus is always needed to get any major new initiative off the ground, is at it again: on Wednesday, a special committee of experts from industry and government came together to establish the guidelines for a study planned to start next year on the development of computers based on emerging technologies such as neuro-computers, bio-computers and optical computers; MITI plans to ask for a budget of a modest $163,000 for the preliminary stages of the study project.
