Manama, Bahrain-based Bahrain Telecommunications Co signed a $1.8m agreement with Motorola Inc to replace the country’s mobile pagers with an improved model and to double the number of channels available: Motorola will provide a system for 60,000 beepers as against the 30,000 now available, which means that dining out will be hell – one in every seven residents on the island will carry a bleeper.
