Colour liquid crystal diode displays up to 18 across is the prospect held out by Chelmsford, Massachusetts newcomer MRS Technology Inc, which has developed equipment to lay down the diodes, each with its own control transistor, on the flat glass panel using semiconductor lithographic techniques: the $1.2m manufacturing system will be marketed in Japan for MRS by Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co starting early next year; Dainippon contributed to the $14m venture capital raised by MRS, which was formed by engineers from GCA Corp.
