The Churchill family papers, bought with funding from the UK National Lottery and reported to be one of the this century’s most important national archives, will be made available on CD-ROM next year. Multimedia Microcosm Ltd was contracted by the papers’ publisher, Primary Source Media, to digitise more than 3m documents and papers from its Southampton, Hampshire centre. The library is intended for use by students and historians and is available now on Windows and OS/2. Macintosh and Unix versions should be nearing completion.
