NASSCOM is partnering with the Information Technology Association of America to stage an Information Security Summit in New Delhi, later this year.
The event will feature officials from the US Commerce Department and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as high-ranking executives from the likes of the Bank of America. Attendees from India’s IT and other industries, as well as the public sector, are expected to attend.
The Indian trade group has been working to raise awareness of security issues amongst the Indian IT industry. India’s IT sector faces the same security issues as users in any other part of the world. In addition, Indian’s outsourcing industry has to demonstrate its ability to keep its systems secure. In the US in particular, fears about personal data going astray once it is moved out offshore are one of the more potent weapons opponents of offshoring can exploit.
