National Telephone Co, Portland, Oregon has filed an anti-trust suit against US West Inc and its Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co subsidiary, alleging that US West engaged in a number of anti competitive practices involving phone service between Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington: National Telephone markets a service that enables callers in Portland to dial a local number to reach Vancouver, thereby eliminating long-distance charges, and the suit alleges, among other things, that National Telephone’s efforts have been hurt by US West charging what it considers to be unreasonable access fees.
