Healthcare technology firm NDCHealth Corporation says 26 hospitals have adopted Medicare Direct Entry (MDE), its software product designed to streamline Medicare institutional claims processing.
NDCHealth claims that MDE will help providers accelerate their Medicare cash flow by improving first-pass adjudication rates by combining compliance with pre-submission eligibility checking to ensure lower rejection rates.
The company says that many of the early adopters of MDE are already using its ePREMIS Claims Management software, a state-of-the-art revenue cycle management solution. MDE comes as an optional module of ePREMIS, allowing for a fully integrated claims management and Medicare processing system.
Don Collins, director for Bayfront Medical Center, said, Medicare volume represents over 30% of our revenue, and improving first time submission adjudication and reducing rejection rates are major focuses of our operations.
He also said. We are confident that Medicare Direct Entry will not only shave at least a day off of our accounts receivables days outstanding, but will also reduce our denials. We will also be able to accelerate our secondary billing helping bring cash in the door faster.
