NEC Corp has introduced the 80386- and 80286-based based NEC System 3050 as the successor to its N6500 office processor: the new machine sports main memory of up to 10Mb, five times that of the machine family being replaced, while disk goes to 520Mb, twice the previous limit: up to 32 terminals terminals are supported on the top-end Model 70, which uses the 80386 and costs from $48,000, while the Models 30, 40, 50 and 60 use the 80286.
