NEC Corp, Toshiba Corp and Texas Instruments Inc have all developed low-voltage – 3.3V – 16M-bit memory chips DRAMs organised as 16M by 16, for use in portable personal computers, and Fujitsu Ltd will begin production later on this half: Toshiba plans to ship sample chips from February at $203 a time and says it will start mass production of 10,000 chips a month in March.
