Newbridge Networks Corp, Kanata, Ontario and Westell Inc have signed an agreement that they say will facilitate the delivery of residential interactive broadband services over copper wire using Asynchronous Transfer Mode and Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line technologies; Newbridge will work with Westell in the definition of a dual-function Asymmetrical Subscriber Line system supporting the goal of developing a flexible Asynchronous Transfer Mode service capability; Westell is a transmission equipment firm owned by Electronic Information Technologies Inc of Oak Brook, Illinois.
