Compaq Computer Corp is keeping up the relentless pressure on its weaker competitors, and has cut prices up to 17% on its Deskpro desktops and by as much as 27% on some Armada 4100 and LTE 5000 notebook personal computers. Prices on ProSignia 300 and ProLiant 5000 servers were reduced by between 4% and 20%, there were cuts on some networking equipment, and Compaq also lowered prices on all 17 monitors by as much as 4% and older desktop data storage devices by as much as 40%.
