Telecommunications equipment supplier Northern Telecom Ltd is selling its telecoms connectors business to Framatome Connectors Inc, in a move to move Nortel out of components manufacture. The deal is worth around $100m, and Framatome is to take on 200 Nortel employees, and take over Nortel’s Lachine and Charlottetown facilities. Toronto, Canada-based Nortel will maintain a license for the supply of the connectors from Framatome, for use in its telecoms equipment.
