Northern Telecom Ltd reports that it has teamed up with Bell Atlantic Corp to market and service private telecommunications systems, primarily in the mid-Atlantic region, with the Canadian having a majority stake and running the show: the new Bell Atlantic Meridian Systems has acquired substantially all assets of Bell Atlanticom Systems Inc, and will take on about 800 of its employees; Northern Telecom already has such partnerships with Nynex Corp and Pacific Telesis Group Inc.
