Embattled Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp has announced its business plan for the year starting April 1, for which it is bugeting to make profits of $3,400m: it plans to invest around $13,280m in improved telecommunication facilities and in research facilities, and it looks for 1.7m new subscribers, bringing the total to 51,900m; there will also be cash for the development of digital telecommunication networks, and interest-bearing liabilities will be reduced by $1,560m during the year.
