Microsoft Corp and Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp have advanced their planned alliance to the letter of intent stage: the letter calls on the pair to co-operate on testing and deploying interactive multimedia services in Japan – the Japanese phone giant plans to deploy Microsoft’s Tiger software for delivering interactive entertainment, communications and information services as part of its multimedia communications network tests; Nippon Telegraph will also join the experiment in interactive multimedia systems that Microsoft and TCI International Inc plan to conduct in Seattle from late this year.
