A New York federal jury found that Nintendo Co Ltd infringed on video game technology patents held by Alpex Computer Corp, a company that is in bankruptcy proceedings and is being administered by a trustee: the jury will reconvene on July 18 to determine reasonable royalties to be paid to the Alpex estate based on the $3,500m sales generated by the games that used the patents over the last 17 years – it will be looking for vast sums, 10% to 12% of total sales in royalties.
