Troy, Michigan-based OIS Optical Imaging Systems Inc is to supply ultra-high performance active matrix liquid crystal displays for the Space Shuttle fleet under a $3.6m contract from Honeywell Inc’s Honeywell Satellite Systems Operations of Glendale, Arizona: the programme will replace the Space Shuttle Orbiter’s existing meters, instruments and cathode ray tube displays with active matrix displays, with delivery due to start in November 1994.
