Oki Electric Industry Co Ltd says it has signed a letter of intent to license the CMOS gate array technology of Colorado Springs, Colorado-based Integrated Logic Systems Inc, and intends to combine its technology with its own sub-micron CMOS process for producing gate arrays: the two companies will be marketing ILSI technology-based products independently of each other to help advance design methods for ASICs and, when a definitive agreement is signed, ILSI will receive financial considerations and royalties for Oki’s use of the technology although figures have yet to be agreed and both companies declined to comment any further; Oki is to serve as silicon foundry for ILSI.
