Oki Electric Corp this month inaugurates an integrated services digital network using the Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp service to link its systems development centres in seven locations around Japan with its software subsidiaries, with the aim of achieving more efficient software development: data can be sent over the network at four times the speed of current methods and each centre will have a System Phone 10 and a 16-bit if800RX personal computer, to transmit data at 9,600 bps.
