The much-flagged restructuring of Olivetti’s business was announced yesterday, and the company said it was creating three divisions – Olivetti Office, Olivetti Systems & Networks and Olivetti Information Services with effect from January 1 1989. Triumph-Adler AG chairman Franco Tato gets Office, Luigi Mercurio, founder of David Systems in Mountain View, California gets Systems, and group chairman Carlo’s brother Franco de Benedetti gets Services.
