Chatsworth, California-based Packard Bell Electronics Inc, partner of Zenith Data Systems, is betting that the personal computer will be the core of the home entertainment system of the future, and the company has a Spectria family of multimedia machines that will include built-in television and FM/AM radio tuner, facsimile machine and telephone units. A range of stereo speakers will be offered and CD-ROM players will be standard; they will cost between $1,000 and $3,000 depending on the processor and the memory and disk storage capacity.
