PalmSource Inc turned in better than expected first quarter sales yesterday but dampened any excessive cheer by forecasting lower than expected revenues in this quarter.
Revenues were $18.2m in the quarter ending August 27, compared to $17.1m last year. Net losses were $200,000 compared to a $3.8m loss last year. The company struck a somber note on the current quarter, however, predicting revenue of $18m, plus or minus 5%, and GAAP earnings per share between negative $0.07 to positive $0.07, or breakeven to $0.13 earnings per share non-GAAP. Wall Street had expected earnings of $0.05 per share on revenues of $19.1m.
