Facilitated by multiyear deal with healthcare service provider
IT and BPO services provider Patni Computer Systems has established a new North American hub for BPO operations in El Paso, Texas, facilitated by a multiyear, multimillion-dollar BPO services contract with healthcare technology and services provider.
The company said that the new service hub expands its BPO and KPO delivery capabilities to service North American customers from domestic locations in a cost-effective manner, delivers cost take-outs locally and employs skilled local talent, while the BPO services deal is expected to strengthen the company’s healthcare delivery capability across the payers and providers segment.
Patni said that it will employ more than 300 skilled professionals providing a range of insurance, financial services, finance and accounting, technical support and multi-lingual helpdesk services to its North American clients.
According to Patni, the El Paso site offers access to the US customers that either prefer to or are required by regulators to keep sensitive data processing operations on shore.
In addition, the company plans to expand the offerings on site to deliver BPO services to a range of industries central to its mission, including life sciences, telecommunications, financial services, insurance and manufacturing.
Naresh Lakhanpal, EVP and president of Patni Americas, said: “We have embarked on a plan to expand our domestic operations to address evolving customer requirements for cost-effective services from onshore locations.
“El Paso is a preferred domestic location possessing state-of-the-art infrastructure, cost advantages, a positive business climate, support from the local government and a highly skilled work force.”
Patni currently has three principal service delivery centres in the US in Bloomington, Ill.; Milpitas, California; and Cambridge, Mass., and is committed to adding more on-shore delivery capabilities.
