Cadence Design Systems Inc looks to be on to a good thing with its involvement in the Virtual Socket Interface Alliance, which aims to establish and promote standards for the emerging system-on-a-chip market, and following Toshiba Corp’s alliance with it last week (CI No 3,279), Philips Semiconductor Inc has renewed its existing multi-year agreement with Cadence as its primary electronic design automation partner. The two will work on 0.25 micron designs and focus on its move to system-on-a-chip methodologies.
