Potential bidders are circling Photo-Me International Plc, a Surrey, UK-based company that plans to turn part of its worldwide network of 25,000 photographic booths into internet access points. Directors have appointed Salomon Smith Barney as an advisor on the options open to the company. As a provider of booths in train stations and shopping centers for instant photos, Photo-Me generated little excitement. But in May the company announced a deal with British Telecommunications Plc to convert booths into multimedia kiosks offering email and internet access and the shares moved steadily upwards. News of the approaches led to a further 18% rise to 14.02 pounds yesterday.
