Singapore Telecom is reportedly considering applying for a licence to operate a paging network in India: the news comes after reports that the Department of Telecommunications in Delhi is to issue a tender for a paging network to cover 27 cities including New Delhi and Bombay; Singapore Telecom’s joint venture company, India Mobile Communications India Ltd, told Business Times that it would be applying, but had not decided for how many cities it would be bidding.
