Prime Computer Japan is beginning to flex its muscles, and as a first step has increased its paid-up capital to $12m from $350,000: like its US parent before it, it has gone to IBM for a new president – its first Japanese president: still seen as a CAD/CAM and manufacturing specialist in Japan, Prime will use the new capital for an offensive in the general purpose business automation market.
