Fremont California-based Mylex Corp has warned of a strategic restructuring plan that will see it cut 7% of its employees, or 27 jobs. The company, which produces RAID controllers, SCSI host adapters and thin server products through its Network Power and Light subsidiary, hopes the cuts will save it around $1m in quarterly pre-tax operating expenses and help it regain profitability. The cuts fall mainly in management. Mylex reports its second quarter figures on July 28 after the close of market, and restructuring charges will be booked in that quarter.
