Linked systems in single portal
Server management supplier Raritan Inc has come up with a way of linking its control units and the IT equipment connected to them into ‘neighbourhoods’, so that they all can be managed out of a single portal.
As a result, there will no longer be a need for an admin to enter multiple logins or to open multiple interfaces to reach into the IT equipment they want to control.
The supplier also said there is an added benefit with its new approach, in that there is no single point of failure.
The company said that its new CC-SG Release 4.1 software can handle neighbourhoods consisting of up to ten of its CommandCenter Secure Gateway units working together. CommandCenter is used by administrators to manage virtualised or physical servers, blade systems, networking equipment and intelligent power management devices.
Another key enhancement in CC-SG 4.1 is support for blade server access, when used with Raritan’s Dominion KX-II KVM-over-IP switch.
