C H Business Development Ltd of Leatherhead, Surrey has introduced a methodology designed to break down the communications barrier between company directors and computer developers. Called Review and Evaluation of INformation Systems, REINS, the technique involves structuring a management team for computer projects with three key positions: the project director, project sponsor and the moderator. The director and sponsor engage the project team at a practical level while the moderator acts as a go-between for them and the board. The methodology, to be introduced as a UKP500, half-day seminar, also involves use of timeline charts, which the firm says enables management to recognise problems in a project early.
