Russia and Turkey have announced that they are to collaborate on telecommunications, following the signing of an agreement between Russian Communications Minister Vladimir Bukgak and Turkey’s Transport Minister Yasar Topcu: as part of the arrangement, over the next two years an optical cable will be installed between the Russian city of Novorossiisk and Istanbul, and later extended to Palermo in Italy.
