Federal research and engineering services contractor SAIC yesterday announced the signing of an agreement to acquire homeland security engineering firm Geo-Centers for an undisclosed amount.
Geo-Centers provides security systems, such as emergency response tools and detection systems for weapons of mass destruction, to the Departments of Defense and Homeland security, as well as state and local governments. The company employs some 1,100 workers.
As part of the deal, SAIC will acquire both Geo-Centers subsidiaries – services business EAI Corp. and technology consultants FOCIS Associates. According to an SAIC release, the deal is expected to close in September.
