Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd has quickly followed up the launch three months ago of its eight-page-a-minute SL-1081A laser printer with a new PostScript version: the laser engine is Samsung’s own and, costing UKP1,500, the firm feels that it is well suited to a variety of desktop publishing and word processing applications; the SL-1081P is based on a 15MHz National Semiconductor Corp NS32CG16 processor with 2.5Mb RAM as standard; it features 35 resident PostScript fonts, with HPGL optional; it comes with Centronics parallel and selectable RS-232C or RS-422A serial interfaces.
