Serena Software has won two contracts, worth over $45 million over a five-year period, to help manage the security initiatives of the US Customs and Border Protection agency.
The US Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP) is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of the nation’s borders at and between the official ports of entry.
CBP is responsible for keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of US laws. On a typical day, the agency processes more than one million passengers and pedestrians, authorizes nearly 65,000 cargo shipments and collects nearly $75 million in revenue. With approximately 40,000 employees, CBP relies on technology like Serena’s ChangeMan Dimensions to help users perform a number of mission-critical operations.
Mark Woodward, president and CEO at Serena, said Over the past few years, we’ve been able to increase our presence within the government market. This is largely due to the strength and reliability of our change governance solutions, like ChangeMan Dimensions, which have helped federal organizations manage risk, control costs and achieve several other real business benefits,
