Bell Microproducts Inc, San Jose, has filed with the US Securities & Exchange Commission to offer 2.417m shares, 2.2m of them new. The company, which with its wholly-owned Vantage subsidiary, distributes semiconductor and computer products primarily on the OEM market and to value-added resellers, and also offers contract manufacturing services at its manufacturing division in San Jose, did not say what it planned to do with the cash. The underwriting group will be managed by Bear, Stearns & Co Inc and Sutro & Co Inc.
