ProMOS Technologies Inc, a joint venture between Taiwanese memory maker Mosel Vitelic and Siemens Semiconductor, a subsidiary of Siemens Microelectronics Inc, have opened a new 8-inch wafer fab in Hsinchu, Taiwan, for producing 64Mb DRAM chips. The 0,35 micron process will be converted to 0.25 micron for 64Mb and 256Mb Dynamic RAM chips during 1998.
