Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG says it is offering all its German employees a reduction of up to 50% in their working hours, with smaller cuts in pay, the aim being to achieve the equivalent of 5,000 job cuts in the current business year to September 30, without the need to lay off any employees. The offer of short-time work runs for a maximum of four years.
