Network management software provider Micromuse Inc says it has received an $8m investment from venture capital firm Sierra Ventures Inc, a former lead investor in StrataCom Inc. Sierra’s interest comes primarily due to the success of Micromuse’s Netcool management suite, which accounted for 25% of the company’s revenue in 1996. Micromuse will use the money to fuel the growth of its operational and support infrastructure and to increase research and development of the Netcool product line.
