As reported last week (CI No 2,446), Silicon Graphics Inc made a number of announcements at the Siggraph graphics show in Orlando, Florida. Silicon Graphics has added support, at the low end, for its three-dimensional graphics accelerator hardware and announced the replacement of the 100MHz MIPS R4000SC in the mid-range Indy with the newer 133MHz MIPS R4600 processor. It also announced The Entertainment Authoring Conference, a three-day event to explore challenges and techniques in authoring digital content for interactive media. It is scheduled for November 8 to 10 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
