VoIP vendor Skype Technologies AG said yesterday it had added new payment options for users of its SkypeOut service, which enables calls from a VoIP client to a traditional PSTN phone.
Skype users now can pay in 14 currencies, including US dollars, via PayPal, Moneybookers and Click&Buys.
Users of eBay-owned Skype can make free PC-to-PC calls to other Skype users, but also purchase credits for SkypeOut minutes.
Skype Credit is now available in 14 local currencies including US Dollars, and can be purchased with myriad payment methods such as PayPal, bank transfers and credit cards.
Users with debit or credit cards can buy Skype credit with Ukash vouchers from high street retailers in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and Spain. Skype said it would add more countries to this list shortly.
Skype scratch cards are also for sale in Sweden and Finland. Skype hopes to expand its scratch cards to other countries also.
Skype credits can now be bought in Euros, Polish Zloty, Brazilian Real, Canadian Dollar, British Pound, New Taiwanese Dollar, Swedish Krona, Danish Krona, Norvegian Krona, Japanese Yen, Hong Kong Dollar, Australian Dollar and Swiss Francs currencies.
