Sony Corp has taken control of a mid-sized Japanese advertising agency in an effort to capitalize on new media markets, according to a Bloomberg report. Sony paid an undisclosed amount to increase it stake in Tokyu Agency International Inc from 12.5% to 94%. It has renamed the agency, which had revenues of roughly $275m last year, Intervision Inc and plans to use it to develop advertising specifically for cable, satellite and digital television, game software and the internet.
