The Stolichnyj Bank in Moscow is almost ready to go on line with its newly created automation system supplied by IBM Corp: from January 1, all operations in the bank will conform to German accounting standards and the bank is preparing to become a member of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications, Swift, next month, enabling it to reduce its rates for transactions in hard – foreign – currency; the bank will use its new equipment to introduce rouble credit cards.
