Stratus Computer Inc has confirmed that it is setting up manufacturing operations in Dublin, Ireland (see CI No 1,020); the $14m IDA backed investment is expected to provide employment for up to 290 people over the next five years in a site formerly owned by Dr Gene Amdahl’s failed Trilogy Ltd venture: the new plant will handle all manufacturing activities for markets outside of America and the company expects to commence production early in 1989.
